Hello Sailor – Nautical Style

No matter what new and perhaps bizarre trends that the fashion world and influential designers decide to throw at us, there will always be some trends that are pretty much perennially in fashion. And one of those trends that seems to crop up every summer is that of nautical style which is simply a style classic that will suit you no matter you size, shape or age and that will always look great.

Maybe it’s because we do like to be beside the seaside in the summer months or perhaps it’s the simplistic elegance that this look can help us to emulate, but for whatever the reason we have been in love with this chic trend. Think stripes, navy blue, red and white along with anchor designs and even perhaps the odd boat motif. It is never very difficult to find inspiration for this style especially with the advent of online shopping, meaning that if you want to tap into it you can with ease, even if you are on a budget. If you want to get a few new pieces for this summer then why not make sure they are of a nautical theme? Check out our favourite pieces from this look below.

One of the easiest ways of all to give a nod to this style is with a simple navy blue and white jumper which you can find in abundance throughout the high street. Whilst we absolutely love to splurge on a classic Petit Bateau jumper that will last forever, we don’t have a spare £100, so instead we found this lovely fine knit version over at H & M who always manage to provide us with some of our most important style staples. Even better, it is currently in the sale at just £7.99 so be quick and nab one in your size whilst it is as such a low price.

A cool and crisp polo t-shirt is always going to be a timeless style but Crew Clothing have gone step further with this incredible nautical version which features blue stripes, a boat motif and even turned up sleeves. Basically this polo shirt is adorable and we can’t wait to wear it with our jeans or with a denim mini skirt for a look that it is as chic as it is adorable. Costing a very reasonable £40, we suggest that you be quick since this gorgeous design in cotton isn’t going to be around for long.

And finally if you would prefer a more subtle nod towards the trend then we love this cute little anchor bracelet in a gorgeous aquamarine colour that will look great with a tan. A simple bracelet is an uncluttered look that will look timelessly cool and add the anchor to the mix and you have a winning look. The jewel encrusted anchor makes this bracelet look much more expensive than it actually is too; in fact it costs just £6.50 from fashion forward retailer Topshop!
